Kelly Bouthillet of Coastal Bay Art discovered watercolor painting during the second year of the pandemic while working as an advanced practice nurse, finally giving space to a creative pull she had long set aside. What began as a curiosity quickly became a restorative sanctuary—an outlet for reflection, emotion, and connection. Inspired by the calm beauty of coastal South Carolina, her work draws from tranquil shorelines, rhythmic waves, and sunset hues. Painting has woven itself into her daily life, offering grounding moments amid the unpredictability of healthcare. With the encouragement of her family, Kelly continues to explore the transformative power of art, creating pieces that reflect both the world around her and her own journey of growth.
Project Overview:
Coastal Bay Art partnered with us for a full website transformation to elevate her online presence and better showcase her coastal-inspired paintings. We redesigned the entire site on Squarespace 7.1 with a clean, minimalist, coastal aesthetic, improving both SEO and mobile performance. We transitioned her shop from Etsy to Squarespace e-commerce, set up product categories, and optimized the backend for seamless management. We also provided training on uploading artwork, maintaining the site, and managing her store. To support sales, we implemented a welcome email automation featuring a first-purchase discount. The final site is inviting, professional, and truly reflects the artist’s location, style, and vision.
